Women in Cardiology Member Spotlight:
Dr.Stephanie Saucier
I am a non-invasive cardiologist, co-director of the Women’s Heart Wellness Program for Hartford Healthcare’s Heart and Vascular Institute, and medical director of Hartford region cardiac rehabilitation program. I received my Bachelor of Science degree from Quinnipiac University and Doctor of Medicine from Ross University School of Medicine. I completed my residency in internal medicine at the University of Connecticut School of Medicine, as well as a fellowship in cardiology at the University of Connecticut, Hartford.
I have been a member of the CT ACC WIC group since 2017, initially as a fellow and then as an early career physician. The WIC group has been an important part of my growth and confidence transitioning from FIT to attending. The collaboration, mentorship, and sponsorship from the WIC group allowed me to grow both personally and professionally.I look forward to helping other FIT on their journey and to give guidance based on my experiences as an early career physician and also as a medical director in program development. I am also a member of the CT ACC education committee and a member of the CCACC committee.
My professional interests include improvement and cardiovascular disease prevention and management in women, as well as preventive cardiology and lipid management. I participate in clinical research in the field of lipidology and novel Lipoprotein (a) therapy. I also am involved with an organization called Team Heart to treat rheumatic heart disease in Rwanda. I enjoy community education and regularly create and give free webinars on a number of cardiovascular topics for the general public. I believe that awareness and knowledge is power in taking charge of heart health.
My hobbies outside of cardiology include traveling and spending time with family and friends. I find I am always planning my next adventure, and I enjoy meeting new people and experiencing new cultures.
Sincerely,
Dr. Stephanie Saucier
